A parent-managed, child-focused edutainment application

1. Introduction

CuCu TV is a parent-managed, child-focused educational application that provides curated educational videos, quizzes, learning activities, child profiles, personalized content recommendations, screen-time controls, and parent-facing reports and learning insights.

This Privacy Policy explains what information CuCu collects, how we use it, how we share it, how we protect it, how long we retain it, and how parents or guardians can exercise applicable privacy rights.

CuCu is designed around a parent-owned account. A parent or legal guardian creates and manages the account and child profiles. Children use a child profile and do not create an independent CuCu account.

3. How CuCu Accounts and Child Profiles Work

The parent or legal guardian signs in to CuCu using Google Sign-In and creates the parent account. The parent can then create one or more child profiles and choose the information needed to personalize the child's experience. The parent also controls access to parent-only areas of the app.

Children use the child profile selected by the parent. They are not asked to create an independent account, provide an email address or phone number, make payments, or provide a photograph in order to use the child experience.

Parent-only features, including parental controls, screen-time settings, reports, profile management, purchases/subscriptions, account deletion, privacy settings, and external links, are protected by the parent authentication / parent PIN mechanism implemented in the app.

4. Information We Collect

4.1 Parent / Guardian Account Information

4.2 Child Profile Information

A parent may create a child profile using limited information such as:

Parents are encouraged to use a nickname rather than a child's full legal name and to provide only information that is reasonably necessary for the CuCu experience.

4.3 Learning and Activity Information

4.4 App and Device Information

CuCu does not intentionally collect precise location information and does not request device location permissions.

4.5 Support and Content Requests

If you use the in-app "Contact Us" or "Channel & Content Request" feature, we collect the information you choose to submit, which may include a message and an image you voluntarily attach. Photo-library access is requested only when you initiate an image attachment and is used to select the image for that submission.

Support images are retained for reporting, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and service improvement. Because such images may potentially contain personal information, parents should avoid submitting unnecessary personal or sensitive information in screenshots or photographs.

5. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

6. How We Use Information

We use information only for purposes relevant to providing, securing, supporting, personalizing, and improving CuCu, subject to applicable law.

Provide the Service — Create and manage parent accounts and child profiles, deliver educational content, save progress, provide quizzes and learning features, and operate requested functionality.

Personalize Learning — Use a child's age group, language, selected interests, learning milestones, and viewing/learning history to recommend educational content and organize the child's learning experience.

Parent Controls and Reports — Provide screen-time controls, viewing history, learning progress, reports, and related parent-facing features.

Safety and Security — Prevent abuse, protect accounts, detect security incidents, maintain service reliability, and enforce app rules.

Support — Respond to questions, technical issues, content requests, and error reports.

Payments and Entitlements — Determine whether a parent has an active subscription or has purchased a supported digital product, where necessary to provide the purchased service. Apple and Google process the underlying payment.

Legal Compliance — Comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and enforce our rights where necessary.

7. Children's Privacy and Parent-Managed Use

CuCu is designed for children and parents/guardians. The child experience is intentionally parent-managed: a parent creates the account and child profiles, and children use those profiles without creating an independent account.

We aim to minimize the information collected from children and do not intentionally request directly identifying information such as a child's email address, phone number, home address, or precise location in the child experience.

Where applicable law requires parental consent or a particular method of obtaining or verifying parental consent before collecting or using children's personal information, CuCu will use the consent and verification process required by that law. The parent/guardian acknowledgement described in Section 15 forms part of CuCu's parent onboarding and privacy-consent flow; it is not intended to replace any stronger legally required verification method.

Parents can contact us at founders@cucutvs.com regarding a child's information, including requests for access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law.

8. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

We share information only as reasonably necessary to operate CuCu, provide requested functionality, comply with law, or protect the service. We do not sell personal information.

8.1 Google Sign-In

Parents may choose to sign in using Google Sign-In. Google processes information according to Google's own terms and privacy policy. CuCu receives only the information necessary to authenticate and maintain the parent account.

8.2 YouTube Embedded Video Player

CuCu may deliver educational video content through YouTube's embedded player. When a video is played, the player may communicate directly with YouTube/Google systems. YouTube's own privacy policy and applicable YouTube terms govern Google's processing through the player. CuCu does not control data that YouTube independently collects through its player.

8.3 Cloud / Backend Infrastructure

CuCu uses hosted backend infrastructure to authenticate accounts, store profiles, deliver content information, record learning progress, and operate the service. Access is limited to authorized systems and personnel as appropriate. Specific cloud services and processing locations may change as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected in this policy.

8.4 Push Notifications

CuCu may use a push-notification service to send parent-device notifications such as learning reminders, account alerts, or service messages. If push notifications are enabled, a device-specific push token may be processed by CuCu and/or the notification provider to deliver the message. Notifications can be disabled through device settings.

8.5 Apple and Google Billing

For one-time purchases and subscriptions, payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play billing, as applicable. CuCu does not collect or store the underlying card, bank, or payment credentials. CuCu may receive or store purchase, subscription, transaction, or entitlement information necessary to provide access to paid features and manage subscriptions.

9. Analytics and Advertising

CuCu does not use any third-party advertising SDKs or third-party analytics platforms in the app. We do not intentionally serve personalized advertising to children and do not collect advertising identifiers.

We may use aggregated or internally generated reports from backend data to understand service performance and improve CuCu. If we introduce a third-party analytics or measurement service in the future, we will evaluate it for child-privacy compliance and update this policy and applicable store disclosures before using it where required.

10. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by applicable law.

11. Account and Data Deletion

Parents can request deletion of their CuCu account and associated child profiles through the in-app "Delete Account" function in Parents Corner. We will process valid deletion requests in accordance with applicable law.

We will delete or anonymize personal information that is no longer required for a legitimate purpose. Some information may need to be retained for a limited period where required or permitted by law, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or other legitimate obligations.

CuCu will also provide an external web-based method for submitting an account-deletion request so that users can request deletion without relying solely on the app.

12. Data Security

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we will take appropriate steps to contain, investigate, remediate, and provide notifications required by applicable law.

13. International Data Transfers

CuCu is intended to be available globally. Our service providers and infrastructure may process information in countries other than the country where a parent or child lives. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and provide additional information or rights required in the relevant jurisdiction.

14. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis, and receive a copy of certain information.

Parents or guardians may exercise applicable rights concerning a child's information by contacting founders@cucutvs.com. We may need to verify the identity and authority of the person making a request before acting on it.

You may disable push notifications through your device settings. You may also stop using optional features that require additional information.

15. Cookies and Similar Technologies

CuCu does not use traditional browser cookies in the native application. The app may use device-local storage for session/authentication information and app preferences such as language settings. Embedded third-party services, including YouTube, may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, legal obligations, or data practices change. We will update the Effective Date and Last Updated date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain additional consent before material changes take effect.
